Bursaries available for Teach First

For final year undergraduates interested in teaching, St John’s College offers a bursary of £1000 to students who receive an offer for Teach First’s Leadership Development Programme. This two-year, fully funded opportunity combines world-class leadership development and teacher training, placing confident, high-achieving graduates in schools in low income areas to help tackle educational inequality across the UK. The programme leads to a Postgraduate Diploma in Education, worth double the credits of a PGCE. Find out more about the programme here.

Conference

Are you looking to give a talk at a conference? We have just the right
opportunity for you!

 

IN[SCI]TE is a new
interdisciplinary science, technology, and engineering conference, which will
take place here in St John’s on the 18th and 19th of
March, 2017. IN[SCI]TE is run by undergrads, and the talks will be both
delivered by and aimed at undergrads.

 

The aims for IN[SCI]TE are to
broaden the knowledge and awareness of science undergrads outside their field
of study, to provide a setting for undergrads to give a talk at a scientific
conference during their degree, and to inspire future scientists to enter
areas of work that cross the boundaries in science.

American Express Opportunities

American Express has opened applications for their 10-week summer internship in a range of departments including Finance, Marketing, Operations, Business and Technology. You’ll enjoy a mix of formal training, practical on-the-job experience, networking and mentoring with the chance to work with and hear from senior business leaders. Perform well over the summer and it could lead to the offer of a place on one of Amex’s full-time, graduate programmes. Deadline to apply is 13th November; apply here

There are also full-time graduate roles available.
