Redboy and Blackboy Movember

This year, both the St. John’s men’s rugby and football teams will be taking part in Movember. Movember raises money to tackle male health issues such as Prostate Cancer (the second most common cancer in men worldwide) and testicular cancer (the most common cancer in men under 40). It also raises awareness of mental health among men, with 1 in 8 men in the UK having experienced a mental health problem and 75% of suicides are men.

This year, the Redboys and Blackboys will be trying to make a difference, so please tolerate the questionable facial hair and donate at the link below.

Week 3

game for the 1s or 2s this weekend, but the 1s play Emma in the first round of
Cuppers away on Saturday so go show your support!

In what promised to be a very good game, it was the
brilliant John’s IIIs who prevailed against Homerton IIIs! Unfortunately, the
intense build up to the game wasn’t a fair reflection on the actual result,
where we came out on top in a 12-0 victory thanks to 6 goals from star striker
Adil (who should’ve scored many more) and some from our new players. Next week
we should be playing Downing IIIs in the cup, although this hasn’t been
confirmed. Anyone interested in playing please contact Ryan Walker (rgw39), all
abilities welcome!

The women’s team won
15-0 against Wolfson/Darwin. Phoebe scored 5, Liv scored 5, Eva scored 4 and
Kath scored 1. In summary, they smashed them. Mikaela was woman of the match. The
next women’s training is 3pm on Friday and they will have a match next weekend.

The Ultimate
Frisbee team started off the season with an extremely tight game on Wednesday
which finished 8-7 to Jesus College. The final result may have been unfortunate
but there were many positives to take forward into the rest of the season.

Next training is
on Wednesday at 2pm. Email Alfie Curry on ac2064 for details.

The Redboys beat
Downing convincingly in the league this weekend.
